The text of their blurb reads...
"The wraps have finally come off Land Rover's (sic) much-awaited new
lifestyle vehicle, with Land Rover (sic) UK this week revealing the
model's first photographs as well as the name of its new offroader.
Until recently codenamed project CB40, the modern, full-time
4-wheel-drive vehicle has been dubbed the Freelander.
To be made available in both 3- and 5-door versions, it is targeted at a
completely new range of customers for Land Rover (sic), and will compete
for sales with the likes of Toyota's Rav-4 and the Suzuki Vitara. Land
Rover (sic) UK says the Freelander will appeal to young-at-heart
individuals and couples who lead active lives.
It is known that petrol and diesel models will be available, but full
details of the model range will only be made available when the
Freelander is launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Sales
should start in early 1998, and there's a good chance the vehicles will
also make their way to South Africa."
